My Time in Honduras
It is difficult to put my feelings for the Honduran people into words. They live a rugged, pastoral life that is foreign to what most Americans will ever experience. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside such admirable people in such an enchantingly beautiful paradise. My time in Honduras has taught me the value of life and the brevity of material possessions. I have learned what true wealth is and what it means to have a place to lay your head that you can ingenuously call home. My experiences have centered on construction and civil engineering projects located in close conjunction with the hospital at Loma de Luz. There is also a great deal of ecological research that is taking place that I have been lucky to have taken small parts in. I will always feel an interconnectedness with the land and its people and plan to continue working in Honduras for as long as I am able.
